How Junk Can Become Art: The Transformative Power of Found Art

Speakers - Sal and Andrea Selvaggio, extraordinary NNV volunteers!

Andrea Selvaggio is a graduate of the Georgetown University School of Law, and is a retired attorney. In her previous incarnation, Andrea earned a B.S. in Art Education from the State University of New York at New Paltz, and taught for four years. She is now enjoying her watercolor painting courses taught through classes at  NNV and Glen Echo.

Sal Selvaggio is a graduate of the Georgetown University School of Dentistry and had a private practice in D.C. for 35 years. In his previous incarnation, he earned B.S. and M.A. degrees in Biology from New Paltz, and worked at Mass General Hospital as a research assistant in studying cellular immunology. Sal plays guitar, does photomicroscopy as a hobby, and is gradually getting through his Covid honey do list.

Andrea and Sal have been married for 49 years, and still feel very happy when catching sight of each other across a crowded room.

Our shorelines are being inundated by trash, plastics and other cast-offs of civilization. You are invited to see how one couple work together to reimagine these to create whimsical works of art. NNV members and volunteers Andrea and Sal Selvaggio will share their work and welcome you to share yours, or those you might have seen that inspire you.

Click here for the Zoom registration link for this session. You will be asked to include your name, email address, and confirm you are not a robot. Once complete, Zoom will immediately email you a link to the program.
