Tharpe, who first came to national attention in the late 1930s, was known for her charismatic performances and guitar virtuosity. But after her death in 1973, she was buried in an unmarked Philadelphia grave. Come learn about this remarkable performer's life and the circumstances that led her to 21st century acclaim as one of the inventors of rock-and-roll!
