Word + Image with Marie Pavlicek-Wehrli
Thursdays 1:00-2:30 pm Oct. 10-Dec. 12 (no class Oct. 17 or Nov. 29)

This session combines poetry with visual arts.  We’ll look at how different artists and poets approach the creative process in making their work.  These discoveries will serve as jumping off points for our own responses, whether it’s writing a poem, or making a collage, a drawing, or a mixed media piece.   This class is intended for DC Residents age 60 plus. Please register with Carol Auerbach carol.auerbach@dc.gov (202) 727-1488.

Marie Pavlicek-Wehrli, painter, printmaker, and poet, has been a Fellow at both the Virginia Center for the Creative Arts (visual arts) and the Ragdale Foundation (poetry), as well as resident artist in painting at Wesley Theological Seminary in Washington, D.C. She is a recipient of a Maryland State Arts Council Individual Artist’s Grant in Poetry. Further information is available on her website: www.mariepavlicek.com.
