Gentle Yoga for Seniors

Every Friday beginning February 7th

No Yoga on February 28th

11 a.m.—12 p.m.
FREE | Ages 60 and older
Lower Level meeting room

Gentle yoga is designed for older adults who prefer a slower-pace. Students will experience a gradual progression of yoga poses to strengthen and stretch the body and breathing practices to calm the mind. The teacher will tailor the poses to accommodate the needs of different bodies, such as tight hips and hamstrings or cranky knees. All levels are welcome.

What to bring:

  • Please bring your own yoga mat.
  • A towel is recommended as padding for knees.
  • Bring your own water bottle.

Chairs will be available too.
No registration required. First 20 participants are welcome.

This class is intended for DC Residents age 60 plus. No class on February 28 and July 3.

Bara Vaida is a RYT-200 certified yoga teacher. She found yoga 25 years ago as part of a fitness routine and fell in love the way the practice heals the mind and body. Her mission is to empower students to find their own path to health and well-being. Outside of yoga, she is a DC resident and freelance journalist, focusing on health care policy and enjoys spending time with her family and dog.

This series is in partnership with Iona Senior Services, Around Town DC, and DC Office on Aging
