Explore the joy of movement and music! This lively class combines group singing to Broadway show tunes and classic pop songs with easy movements that are inspired by a wide range of dance styles--all to piano accompaniment. No prior dance or singing experience necessary. Caregivers are invited to participate for no charge.+

Movement components are drawn from the Dance for PD® program and provide a fun way to increase coordination, flexibility and balance. The dance material, much of which is done seated, is adaptable. Vocal exercises and singing benefit articulation, breath support and memory.

Robert Sacheli, a teaching artist in the Dance for PD program who trained at Mark Morris Dance Group, and musician-composer Roy Barber, who leads a Parkinson’s choir in Chevy Chase, teach the class.

Class meets Wednesdays from 2:30 to 3:30 pm for twelve weeks-- 2/19/20 to 5/06/20.
