A Village in the City.  Many people join NNV because they want to stay in their own home and neighborhood. They appreciate the sense of well being that comes with knowing that a network of volunteers is at the ready should they need it. Some join because they want to connect socially – through exercise, classes, neighborhood outings and much more. The Village creates a strong community. Many members say that the relationships they form are their favorite thing about it.

Events & Activities
Every week members enjoy a full calendar of events and activities that cover a wide range of areas of interest:

Our wonderful group of volunteers fulfill member requests.  They can help with:

Transportation to the doctor, the grocery store, the beauty salon, etc...

Volunteers can accompany members into most appointments and shopping trips.

Professional Service Providers

NNV can help members identify professional service providers who are qualified to perform a range of tasks essential to the upkeep and maintenance of a house-- sometimes  at a discounted fee-- including plumbers, painters, and electricians.  These providers are recommended to us by NNV members who have used their services in the past.  Please let the office know if there is someone who has done excellent work for you so we can approach them about becoming a Village service provider.

By joining Northwest Neighbors Village, full members have access to a full range of activities, events and services. Please call us at (202) 777-3435 or email info@nnvdc.org.  We are happy to answer any questions you may have.

Application Process

Full Membership is available to those living within our service area. A reduced rate program, Member-Plus, is available for those on limited fixed incomes.

After we receive your inquiry, an informal conversation will be scheduled with our Executive Director to discuss services, programs and events you may enjoy and to better understand your specific interests and needs.
* For information on qualifying for Member-Plus, contact Stephanie Chong at the NNV office: (202) 777-3435.

Supporting Membership
Supporting members can take advantage of our referrals to professional providers, including plumbers, contractors, electricians, and in-home health care providers. Supporting members also have access to all NNV events and activities, but cannot request the services of a volunteer. All but $50 of the annual supporting membership fee is tax deductible for individuals and household memberships. There is no interview required for a supporting membership.
