Fraud Trends and How to Protect Yourself
Speaker: Brian Bressman

Learn about the most current fraud schemes and scams affecting DC residents. Learn how to recognize red flags, respond effectively, and take proactive steps to protect your personal and financial information.

The workshop speaker Brian Bressman is a Director of Enforcement and Consumer Protection Division (ECPD).

ECPD works collaboratively with District of Columbia Department of Insurance, Securities & Banking (DISB) in its efforts to protect District of Columbia residents and businesses. ECPD plans and directs well-designed anti-fraud programs to detect, investigate, and conduct enforcement activities on behalf of residents and businesses. It investigates fraud and regulatory violations of the District’s insurance, securities and banking laws committed by licensed and unlicensed companies, agents, brokers, producers, public adjusters, representatives, investment advisers, and the general public, and refers cases for criminal prosecution and/or administrative enforcement proceedings.
