Salon: Big Tech, Trump and the 2020 election
Join the remarkable father-son team – Bert Foer and Franklin Foer – to explore the impact of Big Tech on our society, our politics and our common future. Salons are intimate conversations with 8 other individuals, and each seat is priced at $75 ( which is fully tax deductible). Bert Foer,, is the Former President of the American Antitrust Institute, which he founded in 1998 to promote stronger enforcement of competition laws. He’s the author of many articles, a recipient of the Consumer Federation of America’s Esther Peterson Consumer Service award, and was recently called “an antitrust legend” in a Department of Justice press release. Franklin Foer is a staff writer for The Atlantic and the former editor of the New Republic. In 2017 he published World Without Mind: The Existential Threat of Big Tech, which was named a New York Times notable book and has since won international recognition. Frank has often appeared on TV and radio to talk about his reporting on kleptocracy, investigations of the Trump administration, soccer (he wrote the international bestseller, How Soccer Explains the World), and other colorful topics. The Foers will engage in conversation with each other and 8 other Salon attendees in a private home . Refreshments will be served to complement the stimulating discussion. Dates : Thursday May 30th from 7:00-9:00 pm in a private home in Chevy Chase DC. Each "seat" is $75.
